Welcome to my Art Journal!

Along with my new website, I figured to just start a new blog while I’m at it! I want to start documenting how my weeks are going to give you a little inside view of the studio and the creative process. I will talk about all the new subjects I’m trying out, what mediums I’m using, upcoming shows and all that good stuff.

This week I have been loving watercolor florals. I cannot stop painting them. Usually I use oil paints and paint the whole scene but these last two weeks I picked up my watercolors and just focused on the subject and I really love the simplicity I am getting in the paintings. I love oils but sometimes its so nice to just try something fresh that I haven’t used in awhile. I’m very excited to see where this little floral series will lead me because I really am getting intrigued by all the flowers around me.

I also took a trip to Morris Arboretum this week and let me just say; BEAUTIFUL. The rose garden was one of the most amazing places I have been to and had so many gorgeous flowers that I could just sit down and paint. Also felt like a little garden fairy while painting so that was fun.

Anyways, these are some of the paintings I made in the last two weeks and I just love how simple they are on the white background with all the washes of color. And I also have an idea for all of these little florals that will be coming soon so keep an eye out on my Instagram!

Thanks for listening to me babble about paint:-) & Make sure to check back for the next post!
